Eat Like An Adult: Nutrition Without A Spreadsheet

You do not need to weigh your almonds. You need protein, produce, and a repeatable week.

By Dave Vaughan

Nutrition advice fails for the same reason bad training programs fail: it asks for more precision than your life can supply.

The three things that move the needle

  1. Protein at every meal. Roughly a palm-sized portion. It keeps you full and protects muscle while you lose fat.

  2. Produce you will actually eat. Frozen counts. Bagged salad counts.

  3. A repeatable week. Four or five meals you can make without thinking, rotated.

What to skip

Cleanses, elimination protocols you cannot sustain, and any plan that treats a birthday dinner as a failure. Adherence beats optimization every single time.

A simple test

Could you eat this way during a busy week, on the road, with people who do not care about your goals? If not, it is not your plan yet — it is someone else's.

In the app, the nutrition side suggests meals daily based on what you actually have, which is the point: fewer decisions, more consistency.
